XREAL 1 Pro+ Launches at $599 With 1,200-Nit Displays and 60fps 2D-to-3D Conversion

XREAL launched the 1 Pro+ on October 15, an updated version of its One Pro display glasses priced at $599, as reported by Road to VR and Android Central. The headline change is brightness: the micro-OLED panels now reach 1,200 nits at peak, up from 700 nits on the One Pro.

What's new

• Brighter displays: dual 0.55-inch Sony micro-OLEDs with up to 1,200 nits peak brightness, plus AI-driven HDR.
• Viewing modes: new Standard, Movie and Reading presets tune the picture to the content.
• Faster 3D conversion: the built-in 2D-to-3D feature now runs at up to 60fps instead of 30fps, which should make converted video and games look smoother.
• Comfort: a redesigned nose pad system that XREAL says improves stability, comfort and keeps the full image in view.

What stays the same

Much of the hardware carries over from the One Pro. The 1 Pro+ keeps XREAL's X1 spatial chip, native three-degrees-of-freedom (3DoF) screen anchoring, a 57-degree field of view and 1,920 × 1,080 resolution per eye. XREAL's product page also lists Bose-tuned audio, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, electrochromic dimming and two frame sizes for different IPDs. Six-degrees-of-freedom anchoring and gesture input need the separately sold XREAL Eye camera; XREAL's store offers the glasses and Eye together for $648.

Road to VR points out that the 1 Pro+ is not a standalone device, even though XREAL's marketing images show it without a cable. It connects over USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode to laptops, phones, handhelds and consoles, and works as a large virtual screen for them.

Price and availability

The 1 Pro+ is on sale now at XREAL.com for $599, with retail stores to follow. It sits below XREAL's Aura, the company's Android XR glasses with their own compute unit and 6DoF tracking, which start at $1,099 during a launch promotion. For people who mainly want a bright, portable screen for a handheld, console or laptop, the 1 Pro+ is XREAL's top tethered option.
