XREAL
The Beijing-founded maker of lightweight XR glasses, from tethered display glasses to the Android XR-powered XREAL Aura built with Google and Qualcomm.
About XREAL
XREAL is a maker of lightweight XR glasses. Chi Xu founded the company in Beijing in 2017 under the name Nreal, and it renamed itself XREAL in 2023. Its US office is in Sunnyvale, California. In 2019 it showed Nreal Light, one of the first consumer AR glasses designed to look close to ordinary sunglasses.
Products
Most of XREAL's range is display glasses that plug into a phone, laptop, handheld console or the company's own Beam Pro companion device over USB-C and show a large virtual screen in front of the wearer. Current models include the XREAL One Pro and the XREAL 1 Pro+, and XREAL also makes the ROG XREAL R1 gaming glasses together with ASUS.
The XREAL Aura is the company's most ambitious product so far. Developed with Google and Qualcomm, it runs Android XR on a Snapdragon Reality Elite chip in a tethered compute puck. XREAL opened orders on October 28, 2026, with shipping planned for mid-November in the US, Canada, Japan and South Korea.
