Z-Race

Z-Race is a futuristic racing game from XOCUS, listed under sports and action, where you pilot very fast ships along sci-fi tracks in a high-tech universe. It came out on the Meta Horizon Store on December 27, 2021.

How it plays

The developer describes Z-Race as a hand-racing game: you guide your ship with your hands rather than a virtual steering wheel. On each track you collect nitro boosts and coins, dodge energy traps and obstacles, and overtake other racers. Winning helps you improve, unlock new ships and climb toward the top of the leaderboard.

XOCUS says the game is meant for all ages, with both children and adults in mind, and that it worked hard to keep motion sickness low. The developer calls it the most comfortable VR racing game, which is its own claim rather than a tested result.

Multiplayer

Z-Race uses asynchronous multiplayer, so you race against other players' runs instead of waiting for a live lobby. According to the developer, there is always a rival to beat, and the faster you get, the tougher your opponents become.

Comfort

It supports sitting play only, using motion controllers. If you are sensitive to speed in VR, check the comfort settings and play in short bursts at first.
