A room-scale climbing demo for Quest where you race up tricky routes above deep water and post your times on a global scoreboard.
Deep Water Solo Climbing is a sports game about rock climbing from Walkabout Worlds (Kevin Davies). Its routes hang over deep water, so a slip means a plunge into the water rather than a dangling rope. The demo was first listed on SideQuest in October 2019.
How it plays
The developer frames climbing as a test of coordination, balance, timing and problem solving. Each route is designed to be tricky, and the goal is to reach the top without dropping into the water below. Speed counts too: a global scoreboard compares your climbing times with players around the world, so you can keep chasing a faster ascent.
- Physical, room-scale climbing
- Tricky routes set above deep water
- A global leaderboard for climb times
- A Discord channel for route strategy and suggestions
The listing does not say how many routes the demo includes, so treat it as a sample of the core climbing and racing loop.
Comfort
SideQuest rates it as comfortable, but the developer calls it a physically intense, room-scale game, so clear some space around you and expect plenty of reaching and stretching. It is not listed as a seated experience.
