DeoVR Classic - VR Video Player is a media and video app from DeoVR, published by Infomediji d.o.o., for watching immersive video natively on Quest. It has been on the Meta Horizon Store since August 8, 2019.
What you can do
DeoVR Classic is a native VR video app that opens content with a single click and connects you to a worldwide community of creators who publish VR video on the platform.
- Passthrough viewing: videos can be shown over your real room, which the developer presents as a first step toward AR-style video inside VR.
- Haptics: the player integrates with haptic devices to add physical feedback to what you watch.
- Creator uploads: you can upload your own footage, for example shot on an Insta360 X4, a Canon R5C or a professional rig, and either share it publicly or keep it private.
- DeoVR Premium: a paid tier that the developer says supports the creators whose videos you watch.
The developer also describes work on 6DOF volumetric video, which lets you move your head around inside a scene rather than only look around, and on branching interactive stories. The store page presents these as ongoing projects, so do not buy the app expecting them yet.
Comfort
Meta rates DeoVR Classic comfortable for most people. You can watch sitting or standing, using controllers, hand tracking or a gamepad.
