Resident Evil 4 is a survival horror action and adventure game, remastered for VR by Armature Studio and published by Oculus Studios. You play special agent Leon S. Kennedy, sent to rescue the US President's daughter after she is kidnapped by a mysterious cult. It came out on the Meta Horizon Store on October 21, 2021.
How it plays
Everything happens in first person. You face horrific creatures and mind-controlled villagers, uncover secrets and learn how the villagers connect to the cult behind the kidnapping.
- VR interactions built for this version, putting you directly in Leon's shoes
- high-resolution graphics rebuilt for VR
- The Mercenaries, a free wave-based extra mode against Ganados with 20 challenges and unlockables
It is a single-player game, and the store gives it an 18+ age rating, so expect graphic horror and violence.
Comfort
Meta gives Resident Evil 4 a moderate comfort rating. It supports sitting and standing play with controllers; room-scale is not listed. If you are new to VR, read up on motion sickness in VR before long sessions.
