Beat Bat

Beat Bat is a free rhythm action game from Beat Bat Studio, and the developer says it will stay free to play. You swing a pair of sticks to hit notes in time with the music. It launched on the Meta Horizon Store on January 8, 2026.

How it plays

Notes fly toward you and you strike them on the beat. The rules will feel familiar to anyone who has played the genre:

• Hit each note with the stick of the same color.
• Swing in the direction the arrow on the note shows.
• Ball-shaped notes can be hit from any direction.
• Dodge bombs and keep your head out of the way of incoming walls.

The song library comes from the community. Beat Bat loads maps through the BeatSaver (beatsaver.com) API, and the first time you start it you are asked to accept BeatSaver's terms and policies. The developer also highlights a play style you can customize, a simple interface, a fitness angle and the fact that it runs fully standalone on the headset.

Comfort

Meta rates Beat Bat as intense, meaning comfortable for few people. It is room-scale only and uses controllers. The developer adds its own warnings: make sure you have enough play space, talk to a doctor first if flashing lights affect you or you have had seizures, and stop at once if you feel dizzy, nauseous or get eye strain.
