A free air hockey game for Meta Quest where you grab a striker and play against a bot whose difficulty and puck speed settings you can adjust.
Air Hockey VR for Oculus Quest is a sports game from KGlez that recreates the arcade table game in virtual reality. You take hold of a striker at one end of the table and try to knock the puck into the opposing goal. The game is distributed through SideQuest, where it was first listed in January 2021.
How it plays
Your opponent is a computer-controlled bot. The developer describes it as reacting to the position and movement of the puck, so it adjusts its play to what is happening on the table, and its difficulty can be raised or lowered. The listing does not mention online or local multiplayer; this is a single-player game against the bot.
Controls are simple and use the standard Quest controllers:
- Grip: grab your striker.
- Thumbstick left and right: cycle through the speed modifiers you can customize.
- Thumbstick up and down: change the value of the selected speed modifier.
- A or X: pause.
- B or Y: reset the match.
The speed modifiers let you tune how fast a match feels, which helps both beginners who want a gentler game and players who want a quicker, harder one.
Comfort
SideQuest rates it as comfortable, and all of the action happens with the striker in your hand at the table.
