A dark fantasy action-adventure from the Saints & Sinners team: as the hunter Wren, fight with physics-based melee and climb giant Behemoths to lift a deadly curse.
Skydance's Behemoth is a dark fantasy action-adventure from Skydance Interactive, the studio behind The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. It was released on December 5, 2024, for Quest, PlayStation VR2 and SteamVR, after a short delay from its planned November 14 date. The studio calls it Skydance's Behemoth for trademark reasons.
Story
You play Wren, a lone hunter carrying a rot curse that is spreading through your body. The only cure is to slay the Behemoths, towering gods once thought unkillable, in the Forsaken Lands, a ruined kingdom that ranges from snowy tundra to swampy marshland.
How it plays
Combat is physics-driven melee. Swords, axes and other weapons have weight, and you need to block, deflect and time strikes rather than flail, cutting and bludgeoning human and monstrous enemies. A bow and a grappling hook add ranged options and new ways to move. Between fights there is exploration, climbing and environmental puzzles. The Behemoth battles are the set pieces, pitting you against creatures many times your size. Skydance described the campaign as about 12 hours long.
Comfort
Meta rates the game as moderate. It supports seated, standing and room-scale play. Climbing and fast melee can be demanding for players new to VR, and the game is violent and gory.
