immerGallery

immerGallery is a media and video app from immerVR GmbH for viewing your own photos and videos in VR. It handles immersive formats as well as ordinary flat and stereo files, and it detects each file's format automatically so you do not have to pick a projection by hand. It has been on the Meta Horizon Store since February 23, 2022.

What you can do

Beyond simple playback, immerGallery adds effects and scenery around your media and can turn a set of pictures into a presentation. The developer says its team has long experience in computer graphics and VR and focuses on image quality.

• Support for VR180, VR360 in 2D and 3D, panoramas, and regular 2D and 3D photos and videos.
• Effects such as snow, rain, butterflies and falling leaves, plus themed settings for Halloween, St. Patrick's Day and Christmas, and a hot-air balloon scene suited to drone shots.
• Over 300 bundled immersive photos from places such as Oktoberfest, castles and beaches, with new content added over time.
• Slideshows with background music and recorded voice-overs.
• Browsing of local files and network libraries over UPnP and SMB, plus ZIP collections downloaded from the web.
• Compatibility with media from cameras and devices such as the Insta360 X5 and Luna Ultra, Kandao QooCam EGO, Acer SpatialLabs Eyes and Canon's RF 5.2mm VR180 lens.

Multiplayer

You can watch slideshows together with family and friends in multiplayer, which makes the app useful for sharing holiday photos or 360-degree videos with people in other headsets.

Comfort

Meta rates immerGallery as comfortable for most people. It supports sitting, standing and room-scale use, with controllers or hand tracking.
