FitXR Limited

FitXR is a VR fitness company based in London, United Kingdom, founded in 2016. It was co-founded by CEO Sam Cole, who worked in finance before turning to VR around 2014, and Sameer Baroova. The team began building its first boxing workout in a garage outside London.

That workout became BoxVR, a rhythm-based boxing fitness game that launched across the major VR stores. BoxVR is still sold for Rift, Steam and PlayStation VR but is no longer developed. In July 2020 the company relaunched its Quest app as FitXR, and the same month announced a $7.5 million Series A round: $6.3 million in investment led by Hiro Capital plus a $1.2 million innovation loan from Innovate UK.

Today FitXR is a subscription service on the Meta Horizon Store with more than 1,000 instructor-led classes across studios such as Box, Combat, HIIT, Dance, Sculpt and Flow, plus multiplayer, mixed reality and hand tracking support. In March 2023 it also launched on the PICO Store. In the US, membership costs $12.99 a month or $107.99 a year after a seven-day free trial.
