Pigasus VR Media Player

Pigasus VR Media Player is a media and video app from Hanging Hat Studios for watching and listening to your own files in the headset. It handles local media stored on the Quest as well as media streamed from other devices on your home network. It has been on the Meta Horizon Store since January 9, 2020.

What you can do

Pigasus is aimed at people who keep a personal media library and want one player that covers flat, 3D and immersive formats.

• All media types: video, audio and still images.
• Network sources: stream from UPnP/DLNA media servers and Samba (SMB) shared folders.
• Local playback: open files saved in the headset's internal storage.
• Immersive formats: 2D and 3D content plus 180-degree and 360-degree video and photos.
• View controls: re-orient and zoom 180 and 360 content to suit how you are sitting or lying.
• Subtitles and audio tracks: switch between them in videos that include more than one.

The developer keeps a Pigasus FAQ on its website with details on supported features and help with setup.

Comfort

Meta rates Pigasus VR Media Player as comfortable for most people. Supported play modes are sitting, standing and room-scale, and you can use controllers and a gamepad. As a media player, it keeps you stationary unless the video itself moves the camera.
