AMAZE VR Concerts is a free Quest app for watching 8K VR concerts filmed live with music artists, with one free song per artist and paid full shows.
AMAZE VR Concerts is a media and video app with a social angle, developed by AmazeVR, Inc and published by AMAZE. It places you in the front row for concerts that combine live-action footage of real artists with rendered 3D VR stages. It arrived on the Meta Horizon Store on July 13, 2023.
What you can do
The catalog keeps growing. Artists named on the store page include Megan Thee Stallion, T-Pain, Avenged Sevenfold, Zara Larsson, UPSAHL and TOMORROW X TOGETHER.
- Try before you buy: every artist has one free song. If you like it, you can buy the full concert, with no subscription needed.
- 8K footage: high-resolution video meant to make the artist feel like they are right in front of you.
- Close-up shows: performers play toward you as if the show were just for you, including eye contact.
The developer says its aim is to let any artist build a VR concert and give every fan a front-row seat. The store page also mentions a Fast Company "Most Innovative Companies" listing, a Webby Awards nomination and official selections at SXSW in 2022 and 2023.
Comfort
Meta gives AMAZE VR Concerts a moderate comfort rating, which means it suits some people but not everyone. Supported play modes are sitting and room-scale, and it uses controllers. You stay in one spot during a concert, but the moderate rating means some people may find parts of the shows intense.
