Sol Protocol comes to PC VR on November 11, 2026, following its Early Access release on Quest in September. This co-op space adventure supports crossplay, and its Steam demo is available during Steam Next Fest.
Developed by Singular Perception, Sol Protocol is a VR co-op roguelike built around physically piloting a spaceship through dangerous, procedurally generated stellar systems. The Steam release is planned as an Early Access launch.
Three-player ship operations
The core ship is designed for three players, with separate positions for pilot, gunner and engineer. Progress depends on communication and coordination as the crew travels through space, fights other ships, and salvages structures and planets.
Collected resources can help repair and upgrade the ship. Players can also manage ship systems, operate turrets, explore abandoned stations on foot, and make strategic decisions while pushing deeper into space. Steam lists solo play and online co-op for one to three players.
Singular Perception is developing a bot system called Automa. It is intended to automate some ship functions and support solo and two-player crews. At present, the game is described as best suited to a full trio of players.
Procedural sectors and player-led updates
Each sector is procedurally generated. An interactive 3D map lets players choose where to travel and shows potential hostility and possible rewards before the crew sets out.
The Steam launch is expected to include every post-release update from the Quest version. It will also include an in-game roadmap where players can vote on future updates and features. The first fan-voted feature is a crafting system that turns undesirable loot into ship upgrades. That system is planned to arrive with the Steam version or shortly afterward.
Demo and PC VR timing
The Steam demo is designed to introduce new players through a tutorial and three sectors to explore. PC VR players who want to continue after the demo can sign up for a playtest planned for the end of October through Discord.
UploadVR reported these launch details on October 21, 2026. The report also noted that no new trailer for the Steam launch had been seen at that time; the available trailer was for the Quest launch.
Sol Protocol is available in Early Access on Quest and launches on PC VR on November 11. Its Steam version combines spaceship management, turret operation, on-foot exploration, procedural travel and crossplay co-op, while its roadmap gives players a direct vote on future additions.
