Fallout: Factions Coming to XREAL AURA and Android XR

Fallout: Factions is a turn-based mixed-reality tabletop skirmish game set in the Fallout universe. Mirrorscape and Modiphius Entertainment are bringing it to XREAL AURA next month, while its official site confirms Android XR availability and lists a Steam version as coming soon.

Road to VR reported the XREAL AURA release on 2026-10-28. The report says the launch is planned alongside the first wave of XREAL Aura shipments, which are expected to start sometime in mid-November. No confirmed release date is provided. The report also says the game will be available on Android XR, which may mean support for Samsung Galaxy XR, though that device support is not officially confirmed.

Mixed-reality tabletop battles

Fallout: Factions adapts physical tabletop warfare into mixed reality. The physical 1v1 tabletop game launched in 2024. Its digital version keeps squad-level tactics and strategy, with PvP turn-based matches played around a table or with players around the world.

Players command units across immersive 3D maps. Gesture controls let them reach out, grab and move digital versions of physical miniatures, roll dice and select attacks. Players can view the battlefield from above or see it from their crew’s point of view.

The game is set in the wrecked remains of Nuka-World, including the irradiated ruins of Dry Rock Gulch, a scorched desert left from the once-legendary theme park. Matches are designed for quick tactical battles and replayability.

Factions, weapons and dice

Players choose one of three factions: The Operators, The Pack or The Disciples. Each faction has distinct tactical strengths. The Operators focus on precise, accurate fire. The Pack relies on raw strength and speed for savage close-range attacks. The Disciples can fight at close range or from a distance.

Crew members use the SPECIAL attributes Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility and Luck. These scores shape tactical choices during combat.

Attacks combine Standard, Luck and Bonus Dice. The dice represent weapon power, crew skill and the unpredictable luck of the wasteland. Fighters can use Fallout weapons ranging from spiked bats to shotguns. Weapon Traits and Critical Effects add unique bonuses that influence attack decisions.

Mirrorscape and Modiphius describe the game as a way to play authentic tabletop wargaming in mixed reality. Each faction brings different weapons and abilities, while every turn and dice roll can change the battle.

Platforms and release details

The official Fallout: Factions site lists Android XR as supported and says a Steam version is coming soon. It does not provide a Steam release date or price. It also does not clarify whether Steam will support VR or launch only as a traditional flatscreen version.

The XREAL AURA release is described as coming next month, with timing linked in the report to first-wave shipments expected sometime in mid-November. Android XR and XREAL AURA launch timing is not confirmed as simultaneous. Prices, supported regions, storefront details, minimum device requirements, tracking requirements, multiplayer requirements and online features have not been announced.
