Mission: ISS is a Quest app that simulates life on the International Space Station, from moving in zero gravity to docking a capsule and spacewalking.
Mission: ISS is a travel and exploration app from Magnopus that puts you aboard the International Space Station. It mixes a hands-on simulation of life in orbit with video segments and images featuring NASA astronauts. It has been on the Meta Horizon Store since July 12, 2019.
What you can do
Much of the experience is about learning to get around in weightlessness. You use your controllers to move yourself through the station and handle tasks the way crews do in zero gravity. Along the way you:
- dock a space capsule with the station
- head outside on a spacewalk
- watch videos and look at images in which real NASA astronauts explain life on the ISS
It is closer to an interactive museum visit than a game, and works well for anyone curious about how astronauts live and work. Gamepads are not supported, so you need your Quest controllers. The developer offers support at [email protected].
Comfort
Meta gives Mission: ISS a moderate comfort rating, which fits an app where you float and turn freely in every direction. It supports sitting, standing and room-scale play with controllers. If you are prone to motion sickness in VR, play seated and take breaks.
