A sandbox and arcade shooter for Quest where you climb, fly with jet rockets and swing on a grapple gun while fighting customizable bots on six maps.
Ultra Shooting Playgrounds is a shooter from Ultra Fun Games that blends sandbox play with arcade scoring. Many of its maps are reworked versions of levels from the studio's Ultra Climbing Playgrounds, now filled with weapons and enemy bots. It is distributed through SideQuest, where it was first listed in November 2023.
How it plays
Movement is a big part of the game: you can climb buildings, fly across the sky with jet rockets or swing through the air with a grapple gun. The developer pitches it as a way to sharpen skills for other shooters and battle royale games.
- Training mode: a large weapon cache and detailed enemy settings, including difficulty, numbers and behavior. The developer counts more than 24,000 level variations per map.
- Scoring mode: 10 minutes to find hidden weapons and rack up points; tougher enemies give bigger rewards.
- Super Hero Scoring: 5-minute rounds with extra health, fast healing, higher speed and stronger jumps, so you can fly or swing around the map while taking down bots.
There are six maps: Mist City, Sky City, Polygon, Play Area, Flying Cubes and Blue Matrix.
How to get it and what to know
- The SideQuest listing is marked free, and the developer also offers the game to members of its Discord server.

- It is also available on itch.io.
- Supported headsets: Meta Quest headsets such as the Quest 3 and Quest 3S. On Quest 3, the developer asks you to have the guardian enabled and your room scanned before launching.
- It is in early access. A sequel, Ultra Shooting Playgrounds 2, is in development, with a demo shared on the developer's Discord.
