Arkio is a collaborative architecture design app for Meta Quest where teams sketch, review and present building models at full scale in VR or mixed reality.
Arkio is a design and productivity app for architects and building designers from Arkio. It gives teams a shared space to sketch ideas, review projects and present them, either fully immersed or in mixed reality. It arrived on the Meta Horizon Store on March 31, 2022.
What you can do
Arkio 2.0 added AI rendering, layers and issue export. The app also runs on PC, Mac, tablets and phones, so not everyone in a session needs a headset.
- Import large 3D models from Revit, Rhino, SketchUp and Archicad (a Pro plan is needed) and walk through them at 1:1 scale.
- Mark up designs, leave comments, and record notes and issues by text or voice.
- Model quickly with block-style tools and parametric components, or sketch shapes on top of an existing model.
- Create renders with the AI camera and turn photos or renders into frames that stay in the scene.
- Map your room in mixed reality and cut openings into it.
- Share through Arkio Cloud and export work back to other AEC design tools.
Multiplayer
Collaboration is the main point. The store lists multiplayer and co-op: you can guide other people around a design while presenting, and teammates can join from headsets or from other devices.
Comfort
Meta rates Arkio as comfortable for most people. It supports seated, standing and room-scale play, and you can use Touch controllers or hand tracking.
