Yeeps

Yeeps is a free multiplayer sandbox game from Trass Games that mixes action party modes with creative building and a dash of simulation. You and other players build, fight and hide across shared worlds, and the store lists more than eight official modes next to a large library of player-made maps. It has been on the Meta Horizon Store since July 18, 2024.

How it plays

Building is part of every match rather than a separate menu. You can put up structures tactically during a round, then run and climb over whatever you and your friends have made. Creative Mode drops the match rules so you can lay out a whole world from scratch.

• Official modes: Hide & Seek, Prop Hunt, PvP arenas and team battles, among others.
• Wiring: signal-carrying blocks, similar to redstone, let you build working machines or invent your own modes such as climbing races, bed wars or boss fights.
• Gadgets: grappling hooks, sticky bombs, guided missiles, guitars and umbrellas, which you unlock and can freely hand to other players.
• Community worlds: players publish their own maps, and new featured worlds are picked every day.

Trass Games says updates arrive every two weeks and can bring new gadgets, blocks or whole systems such as pets and potion brewing.

Multiplayer

Yeeps is built around online play. Modes like Prop Hunt and team battles need other players, and building is meant to be done in groups. The studio also runs a Discord server for its community.

Comfort

Meta gives Yeeps a moderate comfort rating. It supports standing or room-scale play, and it uses controllers. If you are new to VR, read up on motion sickness in VR before long sessions of climbing and grappling.
