Happy Run is a VR jogging game where you run in place to move through a large forest, with a Halloween mode that has you sprinting away from zombies.
Happy Run is an action and adventure running game from Motionman, made as a simple way to get regular exercise. You jog on the spot and your character runs through a forest world. It was released on the Meta Horizon Store on June 28, 2023.
How it plays
Movement comes from a natural jog-in-place motion, so there is little to learn before you start. The world is open, covering several square miles of forest that you can run through without sticking to a fixed route. No extra trackers are needed; the developer says a basic Quest or Quest 2 is enough.
A Halloween update called Run4Life adds a chase: fast zombies come after you, and you have to keep up the pace to stay ahead. Each track in that mode is roughly 1 km long, which the developer pitches as a way to keep your heart rate and motivation up.
Comfort
It supports standing and room-scale play and is played with controllers. The developer claims the jog-in-place system causes no motion sickness; results vary between people, and our guide to motion sickness in VR explains why. Clear enough room to jog safely.
