Green Hell VR is a survival adventure game from Incuvo S.A., set deep in the Amazon rainforest. In the story campaign you play anthropologist Jake Higgins, who is searching the jungle for his missing wife. It was released on the Meta Horizon Store on April 7, 2022.
How it plays
Survival relies on wilderness skills modeled on real ones. You collect materials, craft tools and carry everything you need while staying alert for wild animals. The developer has added a lot since launch, and the store page lists these features:
- The full story campaign following Jake Higgins
- Spirits of Amazonia: Part 1, a free prequel expansion the developer says adds more than 10 hours of play
- Shelter building from wood, bamboo and mud, plus new building structures
- A plant cultivation system for growing food and healing plants
- A painting update and new clothing packs
- A visual upgrade on Meta Quest 3
Multiplayer
Up to four players can survive together in co-op. You can build, hunt and defend camp as a group, and Spirits of Amazonia: Part 1 can also be played in co-op.
Comfort
Meta gives it a moderate comfort rating, so it will not suit everyone. You can play seated, standing or room-scale, with controllers.
