Flight 74 is a flight simulation game with shooter elements from TAS Systems Corp. Your plane loses its engine and you have to land on an unmarked runway that turns out to belong to a dangerous South American cartel. To stay alive, you agree to fly jobs for them and prove you are useful. It came out on the Meta Horizon Store on August 29, 2024.
How it plays
The cockpit is the centerpiece. You flip switches, press buttons and can even punch out windows, and the things you carry, such as sunglasses, coffee and guns, can be picked up and used. The campaign is presented like a movie and mixes flying with puzzle solving and action on the ground and in the air.
- A story campaign of demanding missions
- Hand tracking support, so you can fly without controllers
- Free Flight mode with seven airports and more than 2,000 square miles of scenery
- Graphics improvements for Meta Quest 3
- Cars, birds, explosions and cartel encounters along the way
Multiplayer
The multiplayer mode lets you dogfight against friends. The description does not go into further detail on modes or player counts.
Comfort
Meta gives it a moderate comfort rating, so it will not suit everyone. The store lists seated play only, with controllers or hand tracking. Banking turns and dives can trigger motion sickness in VR in some players, so start with short flights.
