Discovery is a block-building creativity and simulation game from Noowanda. You roam a large world made entirely of blocks and reshape it however you like, from a single hut to whole cities or tunnels far below the surface. It arrived on the Meta Horizon Store on June 14, 2021.
How it plays
Every block in the world can be dug out or placed again. The developer lists more than 215 materials to build with, and an inking tool lets you tint blocks in 16 colors so your builds take on their own look. Light matters too, because the world runs through day and night: you can set down torches or put together electric circuits to keep your structures lit after dark.
- Free-form block building with over 215 materials
- Block inking in 16 colors
- Torches and electric circuits for lighting
- A built-in online gallery to share your worlds and to download and rate worlds from other players
The developer describes the controls as simple and meant to be easy to pick up.
Multiplayer
Discovery supports online sessions with up to three other players, so four people can build in the same world at once. The store lists both co-op and multiplayer. The world gallery is the other social piece: you upload what you have made and browse creations from the community.
Comfort
Meta gives it a moderate comfort rating. Discovery supports sitting, standing and room-scale play with controllers.
