Air Brigade

Air Brigade is an arcade air combat game, part shooter and part action game, developed by Brandon Smith and published by Only Human Studios. You take to the sky in VR and battle other pilots. It was released on the Meta Horizon Store on April 28, 2021.

How it plays

You sit in the cockpit of a combat plane and fight dogfights against other aircraft. Your opponents can be real people or computer-controlled pilots, so you can practice against the AI before taking on others.

Progress comes from playing. Each match earns you in-game money, and you spend it to unlock more powerful and more dangerous aircraft. The store description is short and does not list the number of planes, maps or modes, so the main loop is simply fly, fight, earn and upgrade. Only Human Studios also publishes Air Brigade 2.

Multiplayer

The store lists Air Brigade as a multiplayer game. You can test your skills against real players, or fight AI opponents when you want a match against the computer instead. Playing against other people needs an online connection.

Comfort

It supports sitting and standing play, using motion controllers. Flight games with fast turns can trigger motion sickness in VR, so take breaks if you feel unwell.
