Xiexe
Independent developer behind XSOverlay, a paid desktop overlay for SteamVR, who is also known in the VRChat community for free Unity avatar shaders.
Xiexe is the online name of an independent developer who makes tools for PC VR and social VR. On GitHub, Xiexe describes themselves as a programmer working in HLSL, C# and JavaScript as well as a 3D artist and animator.
The best-known product is XSOverlay, a desktop overlay for SteamVR that Xiexe both develops and publishes. It entered Early Access on Steam on March 3, 2020, sells for $9.99 and lets players see and use their Windows desktop, single app windows, notifications and media controls without leaving VR. It is especially popular with VRChat players, since it can pass data such as battery levels to avatars over OSC.
Before XSOverlay, Xiexe became known among VRChat avatar creators for free Unity shaders published on GitHub, including the XSToon toon shader and the XSFur fur shader, which was later folded into XSToon as a plugin.
