Fireproof Games
Guildford studio founded in 2008 by former Criterion developers, creator of The Room puzzle series and the VR games A Dark Matter and Ghost Town.
Fireproof Games is the game label of Fireproof Studios, an independent studio in Guildford, England. It was founded in 2008 by six former Criterion Games staff who had worked together on the Burnout series, and it started out as a freelance art studio before making its own games.
Its best-known work is The Room series of puzzle-box games, which began on iPad in 2012 and won Best British Game at the 2013 BAFTA Games Awards. Sequels include The Room Two, The Room Three and The Room: Old Sins.
The studio moved the series to VR with The Room VR: A Dark Matter in 2020, followed by the VR puzzle game Ghost Town in 2025.
