Cloudhead Games
Canadian VR studio founded in 2012 by Denny and Tracey Unger, known for The Gallery series and the rhythm shooter Pistol Whip.
Cloudhead Games is an independent VR developer and publisher in British Columbia, Canada, founded in 2012 by Denny and Tracey Unger. It was one of the early studios to build games specifically for room-scale VR.
Its titles include The Gallery episodes (2016 and 2017), Aperture Hand Labs (2019), a hand-tracking showcase set in the Portal universe, and Pistol Whip (2019), a rhythm action shooter that has received a long run of free updates on Quest, SteamVR and PlayStation VR2.
In January 2026 the studio laid off about 70% of its staff. Pistol Whip remains on sale, and job listings later in 2026 pointed to a new multiplayer project.
