ArtQuest VR is a Quest art museum app with paintings, sculptures and artifacts from hundreds of collections, shown at true scale and in high detail.
ArtQuest VR – Hundreds of Museums is a travel and exploration and learning and education app from Eric Mosinger, published by CaraCo. The developer calls it the largest art museum in the world. Its collection runs to hundreds of thousands of works, including paintings, sculptures and artifacts, drawn from MoMA, the Louvre, the Rijksmuseum, the Getty and hundreds more institutions. It arrived on the Meta Horizon Store on August 20, 2025.
What you can do
You can spend as long as you like with a single work, without crowds or glass in the way, or wander from room to room and century to century.
- Look at paintings, drawings, frescoes and more, from Girl with a Pearl Earring and the Mona Lisa to The Bathers by Cézanne and the water lilies of Monet.
- Browse by artist, art movement or museum, jumping from Impressionism to the Dutch Golden Age or Gothic art.
- See works at their real size and in high resolution, stepping back for the whole picture or leaning in to study brushstrokes and materials.
- Read labels on artists, styles and historical background, with optional audio narration.
- Unlock two extra wings: Sculptures and Decorative Arts, and Ancient Art and Archaeology.
Multiplayer
The store lists both single-user and multiplayer modes. The description does not explain how shared museum visits work.
Comfort
Meta rates ArtQuest VR as comfortable for most people. It supports sitting, standing and room-scale use with Touch controllers.
