Bigscreen has made its ultralight PC VR headsets a little cheaper. In a post on its official store blog on September 2, 2026, the company announced a permanent $60 price cut across the Beyond 2 line, even as memory and component costs push prices up elsewhere in the industry.
New prices
- Bigscreen Beyond 2: $1,019 down to $959
- Bigscreen Beyond 2e, which adds built-in eye tracking: $1,219 down to $1,159
The standard Beyond 2 also now ships with the Universal-Fit Cushion, a thin silicone light seal in soft and firm versions. That matters because the headset originally required buyers to submit an iPhone face scan for a custom-fitted interface; the universal option arrived in November 2025.
Halo Mount back in production
The Halo Mount, an alternative head strap, has had a rocky path. According to Road to VR, it went through a major redesign after negative tester feedback in late 2025, then a further delay in June when a small part called the sledge link needed rework. Production has now resumed, with most units expected to ship in October. Bigscreen says it expects to clear the pre-order backlog in November and, after that, to ship Halo Mounts within one to two business days. The company says early results suggest no further engineering changes or delays.
Stock and shipping
High demand and a delayed freight shipment left Beyond 2 and 2e stock very low at the time of the announcement, with some orders taking up to two weeks to leave the warehouse. Bigscreen said it expected normal one-to-two-day shipping to return by mid-September.
What it means for buyers
The Beyond 2 remains one of the lightest PC VR headsets available, at around 107 grams, but it is a specialist device: it needs a gaming PC and SteamVR base stations for tracking, and controllers are not included. For PC VR enthusiasts who already own Valve Index base stations and controllers, the lower price makes the upgrade a bit easier to justify.
