War of Wizards is a VR arena game for Meta Quest where you draw symbols in the air to cast over 80 spells in 1v1 and 2v2 duels and a roguelike mode.
War of Wizards is a spell-casting action and strategy game from Arcane Miracle Entertainment Limited, published by Arcane Miracle Entertainment. Instead of pressing buttons, you cast magic by tracing symbols in the air, then use those spells against other wizards in arena fights. It came to the Meta Horizon Store on October 3, 2024.
How it plays
There are more than 80 spells to learn, and each one has its own gesture. Battles mix quick reflexes with planning, since the spells you bring shape how a fight unfolds.
The main mode the store page highlights is Rune War, a roguelike arena. Every two minutes you choose one of three random augments that boost your abilities. There are 113 augments split into Silver, Gold and Prismatic tiers, and your spell loadout affects which ones show up. You can stack damage, invest in survival, or gamble on rare combinations, so matches rarely play out the same way twice.
Multiplayer
War of Wizards offers 1v1 and 2v2 player-versus-player matches as well as PvE modes against computer opponents. An internet connection is required.
Comfort
Meta rates the game as moderate in comfort. The store lists sitting and standing play with controllers; room-scale is not listed.
