Monster Showdown

Monster Showdown is a free shooter and action and adventure game from Virtual Uppercut Studios. You face waves of monsters that keep getting stronger, and you search each map for weapons and upgrades until you are strong enough to break out. It arrived on the Meta Horizon Store on July 9, 2024 and is still in early access.

How it plays

Every run is about staying alive while the horde grows. Killing monsters and repairing barriers earns currency, which you then spend on guns, weapon upgrades and perks.

• Weapons: more than 60 guns, bought from dispensers on the walls, plus a mystery box that may hand you something very powerful if you are lucky.
• Melee: swing your controller to hit enemies up close; cleaner, more skillful swings deal more damage.
• Upgrades: improve your weapons or buy Perk Donuts from a vending machine.
• Stages: maps set in different places and eras, many with their own monster types and a boss.

Some stages are short and built around a specific challenge, while others are larger and reward wandering off to look for gear. It is a single-player game.

Comfort

It supports seated, standing and room-scale play with controllers. Melee attacks rely on real arm swings, so leave yourself room to move.
