A seated mech combat simulator where you run a war machine from its cockpit and fight bots or other pilots in 8v8 and free-for-all PvP.
IRON REBELLION is a sci-fi mech simulation game from DragonSnacks in which you pilot a giant war machine from inside its cockpit. It was made for VR only and designed around seated play. It is distributed through SideQuest, where it was first listed in November 2021.
How it plays
You power up the mech's systems, take the throttle and aim weapons by hand. A guided tutorial teaches the cockpit first. Switches, touchscreens and navigation controls are physical objects you operate with your hands, with controller feedback when you grab them.
- Six mech classes with different combat roles and handling.
- Loadouts: configure weapons, install augments and apply camo patterns.
- Battlefield data: a cockpit minimap shows terrain elevation, team pings and artillery impacts.
- Maps: varied terrains, including maps submitted by the community.
- Observer Mode: fly freely around live matches to capture footage or study tactics.
- Extra hardware: native bHaptics support and telemetry for compatible SRS motion rigs.
Multiplayer
Online play includes tactical 8v8 Warzone battles plus free-for-all Deathmatch and Gun Game. Pilots on PC VR and standalone Meta Quest share matches. Every mode also supports bots with adjustable difficulty, and an offline mode lets you play with no internet connection.
Comfort
SideQuest rates its comfort as comfortable and marks the game as seated.
