A Quest 3 and 3S version of Hitman 3's campaign rebuilt for VR: sneak, disguise and eliminate targets as Agent 47 in large sandbox levels.
Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded is a stealth shooter and action game developed and published by XR Games in collaboration with IO Interactive, the owner of the Hitman series. It launched on September 5, 2024, exclusively for Meta Quest 3, and also runs on Quest 3S.
How it plays
You play Agent 47 in the campaign levels of Hitman 3 (2021). Each mission is a large sandbox with a target to eliminate and many ways to do it: you can pick up disguises, sneak through restricted areas, set up accidents, poison food or fall back on firearms. Everything is done with your hands, from picking locks and throwing objects to aiming weapons.
Compared with the older VR mode of the flat-screen game, Reloaded adds dual wielding, a cel-shaded art style, a VR-specific interface and improved movement.
Content and launch state
The game covers the base Hitman 3 campaign only. Freelancer mode, levels from Hitman 1 and 2, and the Ambrose Island map are not included. Reviews at launch pointed to technical issues, and a patch in October 2024 improved stability, level of detail and lighting.
Comfort
Meta rates the game as comfortable. It uses smooth movement with comfort options and can be played seated, standing or in room scale.
What to know before buying
- It runs only on Quest 3 and Quest 3S, not on Quest 2 or Quest Pro.
