Harvest VR is a free farming simulation for Meta Quest where you grow crops, sell vegetables, fish, mine and cook in the countryside.
Harvest VR is a farming simulation game from Development Studios, published by Brothers. You spend your days on a small countryside farm, growing plants, selling the produce and going into town for better tools. It came to the Meta Horizon Store on March 10, 2021.
How it plays
The core loop is plant, harvest, sell and reinvest. Money from your vegetables buys new farm tools, and you can unlock items to furnish the house and improve the farm. The store page lists more than 15 kinds of crops to grow.
Beyond the fields there are a few side activities to break up the routine:
- Fishing, mining and cooking.
- Climbing trees to pick apples.
- Saving your progress inside your house.
- A choice between real-time days and a faster simulated clock.
The pace is up to you: the developer pitches it as a game where you can work hard or barely work at all. It also says it wants to keep adjusting the game based on feedback from its Discord community.
Comfort
Meta has not published a comfort rating for Harvest VR. The store lists standing and room-scale play with controllers, with no seated mode. If you are new to walking around virtual spaces, read our guide to motion sickness in VR before long sessions.
