GrooVR: Air Drumming is a rhythm game for Meta Quest where you play a virtual drum kit to 17 songs, with lessons, practice tools and a mixed reality mode.
GrooVR: Air Drumming is a drumming rhythm and simulation game from Coradini Design. You sit behind a virtual drum kit and play along to songs, starting with beginner lessons in 4/4 time and working up to Expert charts. It has been on the Meta Horizon Store since August 16, 2021.
How it plays
The game ships with 17 songs, and more albums are sold separately as downloadable content. You can pick between Solo, Practice, Campaign and Tutorial modes.
- How hard you hit changes the drum volume and the haptic feedback.
- You can customize the kit layout and the angle of your sticks.
- Music, drums and cymbals have separate volume controls.
- Practice mode can slow a song down or loop a tricky section.
- BPM, measure, combo and achievement readouts help you follow the patterns.
Stages include Basement, Memory Alley, Hurricane Station and Sunset City. A Real World option uses mixed reality to put the kit in your own room instead. Leaderboards are there if you want to chase scores.
Comfort
Meta rates GrooVR as moderate in comfort. It supports sitting, standing and room-scale play, and you drum with controllers.
