Assassin’s Creed® Nexus VR

Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR is an action-adventure game from Ubisoft, designed for VR from the start rather than ported from a flat-screen release. You take on the roles of three well-known Assassins from the series and work to stop Abstergo from gaining a power that can reshape what people believe. It launched on the Meta Horizon Store on November 16, 2023.

How it plays

The game is built on three pillars, and missions let you mix them as you like: sneak in quietly, climb around guards or fight your way through.

• Combat: flick your wrist to extend the Hidden Blade, then block, parry and counter with your own hands against enemies carrying a range of weapons.
• Parkour: climb and run across large open maps set in Renaissance Italy, Ancient Greece and Colonial America.
• Stealth: take targets from behind or drop on them from above, slip into crowds to lose pursuers, or throw objects to pull guards away.

Series staples are here too, including the Leap of Faith from high vantage points.

Comfort

Meta rates it comfortable for most people. You can play seated or standing, with controllers. With this much climbing and jumping, newcomers may want to read up on motion sickness in VR first.
