ArcadeVR

ArcadeVR is a sports and arcade game from Hexanano, made to ease stress and isolation during the pandemic through nostalgic arcade machines. It is distributed through SideQuest, where it was first listed in February 2022.

How it plays

The game is set in a mall arcade with three machines so far:

• a basketball machine with three modes that use balls of different weights, so players of all ages can take part
• a skee-ball machine
• a stacker machine

Playing earns tickets, which you can trade for different shirts to wear and show off. A feedback form sits at the entrance of the mall, and the developer actively asks players for their responses to help improve the game.

Multiplayer

Multiplayer is switched on from the settings in the wrist menu. With it enabled you can meet up with friends, chat, and play together on the basketball and skee-ball machines, which are the two that currently support multiplayer. The shirts you redeem are visible to other players. If you prefer, you can also play alone offline.

Comfort

You can move with the thumbstick or use tap-to-teleport for quicker travel around the arcade, so you can pick whichever style suits you.

• The developer runs a Discord server for updates, times when other members are online, and feedback.
