Madrid Noir is an interactive thriller in the media and video category from Atlas V, No Ghost, published by Astrea. It is a story-first experience with light, comfortable interaction, aimed at film fans as much as regular VR users. It has been on the Meta Horizon Store since July 1, 2021.

What you can do

The story follows Lola, who goes back to the apartment of her uncle Manolo after he has been declared dead, to collect her belongings. Being there brings back memories from her childhood, and you live through those memories with her. Along the way some details in the apartment start to look wrong, and the plot takes several turns as the mystery unfolds.

Interaction serves the narrative rather than testing your skill. Think of it as an animated noir film you step inside, where you take part in scenes instead of solving puzzles or fighting. The store does not list a running time.

According to the listing, the team behind Madrid Noir also made Battlescar, Gloomy Eyes, Mobile Suit Gundam Silver Phantom and Wallace & Gromit in the Grand Getaway, so it sits within a wider body of story-driven VR work.

Comfort

Meta rates Madrid Noir as comfortable for most people. It supports standing and room-scale play, with no seated mode listed, and uses Touch controllers.
