MWC Barcelona 2027
GSMA's MWC Barcelona, the mobile and connectivity industry's largest show, runs March 1 to 4, 2027 at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, with keynotes, six conference themes and a large exhibition floor.

MWC Barcelona is the yearly connectivity and mobile technology event organised by the GSMA, the global mobile operators' association. MWC27 runs from Monday, March 1 to Thursday, March 4, 2027 at Fira Gran Via, the trade fair grounds in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona. The GSMA expects over 100,000 decision makers.
MWC is not an XR show, and the official MWC27 site does not yet name an XR, AR or smart-glasses programme. It is still one of the places where phone makers, chip companies and operators show new devices, so XR hardware often turns up on the show floor. What the official site does show for 2027:
- Six thought-leadership themes: Networks Reinvented, AI in Action, Autonomous Enterprise, AI of Tomorrow, Trust at Scale and The Next Era
- The Next Era theme covers technologies such as next-gen interfaces, autonomous systems and space-borne networks
- A first group of keynote speakers, including the CEOs of ElevenLabs and KT Corporation
- Connect Health, a new healthcare programme launching at MWC27 and 4YFN
Earlier editions had XR-related exhibitors. For example, XPANCEO showed smart contact lens prototypes with an AR microdisplay at MWC25, according to an article on mwcbarcelona.com. The show is aimed at industry professionals rather than consumers. Visitors can register their interest on the official site, and pass details will be published there.
