VR Cover
A VR accessory maker that has made hygienic covers, facial interfaces and replacement foams for headsets since the Oculus Rift DK2, now including Meta Quest 2.
About VR Cover
VR Cover makes aftermarket comfort and hygiene accessories for VR headsets. Road to VR reported in 2016 that the company had been making hygienic covers for headsets since the Oculus Rift DK2 in 2014, and named Jay Uhdinger as its founder. In 2016 it ran a Kickstarter campaign for replacement facial interfaces for the consumer Oculus Rift. VR Cover said at the time that these parts were not officially sanctioned by Oculus. The same team was linked to VR Lens Lab, a Kickstarter-funded maker of prescription lenses for headsets. VR Cover sells through regional online stores at vrcover.com.
Products
VR Cover does not make headsets. Its range covers replacement facial interfaces, PU leather foam replacements, washable covers, nose guards and spacers. It has made versions for headsets from the Oculus Rift and Oculus Go to Quest models, and covers for Apple Vision Pro. On the Meta store it sells the VR Cover Facial Interface & Foam Replacement Set for Meta Quest 2 for $29. That set includes a facial interface frame with airflow channels to reduce fogging, plus standard and comfort memory foam replacements in wipeable PU leather.
