Guided Meditation VR

Guided Meditation VR is a fitness and health app from Cubicle Ninjas that pairs guided meditation with relaxing virtual scenery, which also gives it a travel and exploration feel. The pitch is simple: put on the headset, pick a peaceful place and a session, and let the visuals and audio help you settle. It was released on the Meta Horizon Store on October 21, 2021.

What you can do

The app is a one-time purchase with no subscription. According to the developer, the library includes:

• More than 40 environments to sit in while you meditate.
• More than 150 guided meditations, together over 30 hours, led by several teachers on topics such as anxiety, depression, sleep, resilience, maternity, mindfulness and zen.
• More than 200 calming audio tracks for background sound.
• Custom sessions: choose whether you want guidance, music, both or neither.
• Meditation timer: a plain timer for experienced meditators who want a traditional session in a natural setting.
• Float mode: a slow, automatic glide through the landscapes, which the developer compares to a lazy river.

Comfort

Meta rates Guided Meditation VR as comfortable for most people. Supported play modes are sitting, standing and room-scale, and you can use controllers and hand tracking. Most sessions are stationary. Float mode moves you without your input, so if you are sensitive to motion sickness it is worth trying it in short stretches first.
