Company behind VRChat, the free social platform built on user-made worlds and avatars, created by Graham Gaylor and Jesse Joudrey.

VRChat Inc. develops and operates VRChat, one of the largest social VR platforms. The project was created by Graham Gaylor and Jesse Joudrey; its first build appeared for the Oculus Rift DK1 prototype in January 2014, and it entered Steam Early Access in February 2017.

Almost everything in VRChat is made by its community: creators build worlds and avatars with the VRChat SDK in Unity and its Udon scripting system. The platform is free, earns money through the VRChat Plus subscription and an avatar marketplace, and supports cross-play between PC VR, Meta Quest, PICO and phones.

The flat-screen Android and iOS apps reached full release in October 2025, and the platform set a concurrent-user record of about 156,700 in February 2026.
